Intro
Human identity is not a static object. It is a living pattern shaped by memory, preference, affect, language, habit, and the continuous dynamics of the brain.
EXIST develops systems designed to measure, model, validate, and preserve those patterns across time.
02
Science
SCIENCE BEFORE PROMISE.
Our research begins with a simple constraint: continuity cannot be reduced to anatomy alone. A useful model of identity must preserve both structure and function. It must represent how a cognitive state changes, how memories are accessed, how preferences persist, and how the self remains coherent over time.
03
Continuity
WHAT CONTINUES?
EXIST defines continuity as a measurable correspondence between validated cognitive states across time. We evaluate autobiographical memory, semantic self-model, affective response, preference stability, cognitive strategy, and temporal neural dynamics as a unified system.
04
Research
RESEARCH ACROSS THE FULL STACK.
Our programs span Neural State Reconstruction, Identity Persistence, Memory Architecture, Cognitive Integrity, Substrate Engineering, Continuity Systems, and Secure Persistence.
05
Facilities
BUILT FOR LONG-DURATION WORK.
New York coordinates global operations, governance, institutional relations, and private client services. Bellevue remains the principal Continuity Research Center and the core site for integrated acquisition, validation, and continuity-systems engineering.
06
Governance
CAPABILITY REQUIRES ACCOUNTABILITY.
Continuity research raises questions about consent, identity rights, data stewardship, cognitive integrity, and personhood. Our governance framework is designed to make oversight an architectural requirement.
07
Private Clients
PRIVATE CLIENT SERVICES
EXIST works with a limited number of private clients whose cases require individual review. Access is by invitation only.

THE QUESTION IS NO LONGER WHETHER IDENTITY CHANGES.
THE QUESTION IS WHAT MUST REMAIN.
